You are not broken.

My friend,

I see you. I see the frustration, the disappointment, the exhaustion of thinking you had moved past something—only to have it resurface, feeling raw and tender all over again. I know how discouraging that can be, how it can make you wonder, Have I even healed at all?

But let me tell you something: healing is not a straight line. It’s not a checklist where you cross things off and never look back. It’s more like the ocean—waves rolling in and out, sometimes calm, sometimes crashing, always moving. And just because a wave has returned doesn’t mean you’re back at the beginning. It means you’re human.

What’s happening now doesn’t erase the work you’ve done. It doesn’t mean you haven’t grown or that you’ve somehow failed. It simply means there’s another layer, another tender part of you that needs attention and care. And that’s okay.

Think about how you’d comfort a friend in this moment. Would you tell them they should “be over it by now”? Or would you sit with them, offer them kindness, remind them how strong they are? You deserve that same compassion from yourself.

So instead of asking, Why am I back here? try asking, What is this moment trying to show me? Maybe it’s an invitation to grieve something more deeply. Maybe it’s a reminder that healing is not just about letting go, but also about learning to hold yourself gently when old wounds ache again.

You are not broken. You are not back at square one. You are moving, growing, becoming. And even in this—especially in this—you are not alone.

With care and gentle encouragement,

Tiana
